After paying for the apartment in full, I was asked to send a photo of my ID and credit card on WhatsApp before they would tell me its house number. It felt like a mafia-like attitude. We spent the whole afternoon in the rain, then had to figure out the door-opening mechanism from a YouTube video. Once inside, the mechanism was extremely faulty, and the apartment was dilapidated, with drafts everywhere, a TV and stove that didn’t work, a smelly bathroom, dirt, and torn-out electrical outlets. Horrible.
