Mercure Paris Opéra Louvre

The location was great, but the price didn't match the room or service, and I wouldn't choose this hotel again. Room 101 was small, very noisy, and smelled strongly of old mold, which made the stay unpleasant. Around 09:00 on checkout day, when checkout wasn't until 12:00, a housekeeper opened our door without knocking and woke us. It was alarming and caused unnecessary anxiety. At check-in, one of the two receptionists, a woman in her 40s named Laundra or Laura, was extremely rude. The male receptionist who checked us in was professional and showed what good service should be. As someone who often stays at Accor hotels, I was very disappointed with the room.

For my quick solo overnight in Paris, the location made it easy to reach major attractions and get around to others. The front desk staff were welcoming, and I was able to check in early and got an upgrade on arrival. The reception looked tidy and modern, but the rest of the hotel felt a bit dated. My room was comfortable, though small and crowded with basic amenities. The bathroom was a decent size, but the pressure was too weak for the rain shower-head. Breakfast was quite disappointing and below what I expected from this hotel.

There are plenty of places to eat nearby, and you can walk to Galleries Lafayette and the train station. The location is great. The room, though, was extremely tiny, with no ventilation. The minibar was unplugged when I wanted to keep a small slide of cake for later. The bathroom was very tight, and the shower felt even smaller than one on a cruise ship. The service team weren't friendly either.

Housekeeping was excellent and helped us a lot, and the bed was cozy. The little kits in the bathroom were useful too. But the room was so tiny that everything being close together made it chaotic. The location was ideal, near the Louvre and other popular areas. Breakfast had lots of different options, though the taste could have been better. The elevator was broken for a day and nobody came to fix it. The receptionist was absent most of the time, and we struggled to explain that we wanted to check out. In a tourist city, having reception staff who don't know English well is really strange.
