The building itself feels like a museum, and while the museum is beautiful, some of the statues aren’t very well done or worth seeing. I’d stop by out of curiosity, but it wasn’t breathtaking. Madame Tussaud’s in London impressed me more. We couldn’t book a time slot ahead, so even with tickets we waited in the rain. The kind staff handed out umbrellas while we waited. It was school break, we think, which may explain the crowds, so we had to be patient.

It takes about 90 minutes to walk through, and you can take photos with all your favorite people. The museum covers film, sport, and politics in a really enjoyable way. It was crowded and on the pricey side for a museum, but well worth it. You can buy tickets there, though it’s definitely quicker to get them online. If you visit Paris, this is one museum I wouldn’t miss.

Musée Grévin brings together art, illusion, and storytelling in a way that makes it feel like much more than a wax museum. Founded in 1882, it’s one of Paris’s more original museums, mixing traditional craftsmanship with newer multimedia scenery that keeps the visit immersive. The visit is well organized, and the staff are friendly without getting in the way. Lighting, sound, and atmosphere are carefully arranged, so photos come out exceptionally well. It’s a rare mix of museum care and showmanship. Whether you go alone or with family, Musée Grévin offers a lovely Parisian blend of culture and fun, a timeless place where imagination feels real. Every room has its own story, from medieval French kings to scientific discoveries and modern pop culture. The figures and sets are impressively detailed, down to expressions, gestures, and costumes. Standing beside Marie Curie or Albert Einstein feels surprisingly intimate, while Napoléon’s campaign recreation and the mirrored theatre hall have a cinematic feel. The contemporary section, with cultural icons, chefs, and visionaries, is engaging too. The wax figures are crafted to a very high standard, but the experience also mixes learning, play, and emotion in a way that makes history feel personal and tangible.

I was mainly looking forward to the Detroit Becomes Human exhibit, but it’s no longer there and seems to have been replaced with cartoon characters. I don’t quite understand cartoon figures in a wax museum, where the point of the statues seems to be that they look like real people. I hope they bring Detroit Becomes Human back, or host Expedition 33 now that it has won so many game awards. The visit was okay, about €27 per adult for an hour and a half. It’s not as large or extensive as Madame Tussauds in NYC, but the actors make the experience feel nice and unique. I also enjoyed the French history content, which makes sense to find here in Paris.
