Quartier Notre Dame

An affordable, nice hotel in a great spot. You can walk to the major notre dame train station and the marais neighborhood. The hotel is down a side street that cars can't drive on, so with luggage you'll have a few cobblestones and stairs to deal with. There are also a few steps inside before the elevator platform, but the staff helped us move our bags.

The staff were friendly, and the location was great, but the room was awful. Our first-floor room felt like a dungeon at street level and was loud all night. The carpet was gross, with a pattern meant to look like hardwood. The bathroom was terrible too. The shower had no defined enclosure, so the floor and fixtures were constantly soaked. Definitely didn't feel like a 3 star accommodation.

The hotel was nice enough, but two things brought it down. We arrived at 4.30pm, well into check-in time, yet our rooms weren't ready for another 15 minutes. Since it was winter, we wanted to get back out quickly and enjoy what daylight was left. The mattress on my bed was also very lumpy.

The staff were friendly and glad to help with anything that came up during my 5 night stay. The hotel has plenty of history and sits on a tiny, quiet lane where cars aren't allowed. St Michel metro is very close, and there are lots of restaurants just around the corner.
