We’d liked this hotel on an earlier visit, and had two more stays booked during our seven-week trip to France. We cancelled both after seeing how disruptive the construction was, especially when we were jet lagged. The last straw was coming back one night to find the building’s only staircase blocked with construction debris. That could have been a nightmare in an emergency, leaving only a tiny 30" wide elevator as an exit. On the morning we left, the construction crew had taken over the elevator, so we had to carry all our suitcases down five narrow, winding flights of stairs piled with debris. I felt the hotel had completely ignored the safety of its occupants. Other travelers told us water was dripping into their rooms from work on the floors above. The hotel should have explained that construction would mean noise and disruption. I can no longer recommend it. We’d previously liked the great location and nice rooms.

The room was clean, and the bathroom was a real highlight, with a heated tile floor. Breakfast was hot, complete, and wonderful. The hospitality was top-notch, and the location was phenomenal for a couple's visit, with easy Metro access and several great places to eat nearby. If you’re looking for somewhere to stay in Paris, I’d book this property. We’ll definitely stay here when we visit Paris again.

This was our third visit to this hotel in what I think is the perfect quarter of Paris. The hoteliers Willy and Alex are the reason for my five-star rating. Their professionalism, flair, care, knowledge, and joy in their work are outstanding. They’re the best concierges we’ve had the pleasure to meet. I’d only stay here if they’re still associated with the place. The Des Arts and Villa D"Estrees were sold about a year and a half ago. They used to belong to a private family, and the hotel's feel and character have changed radically. The rooms have been or are being updated. Before, they felt like a French countryside home, with red and white French wallpaper, a perfectly placed antique chair, and shutters opening onto beautiful Paris. The rooms made you feel each morning and evening that you were in a classic, unique city. Now they remind me of a Holiday Inn in Hackensack New Jersey, with fancy bathroom doors. The new owners took away the class, flair, character, and personality of every room. The rooms are larger than those in most three-star hotels and very clean, but very boring. Willy and Alex have kept the hotel's character alive, but couldn’t save the rooms. Without them, even three stars would be generous. The real feel of Paris has been lost.

We loved this property and would stay again. The renovated room was beautiful and spacious, with a sitting area, refrigerator, microwave, and coffeemaker. The spacious bathroom had two sinks and two shower heads. There was air conditioning and a small elevator. Restaurants and shops are just steps away, and it’s a great location, with the Louvre and Notre Dame a quick walk away. The staff were awesome, especially Willy at the front desk, who was always helpful with taxis, restaurants, and more.

We were four adults in Paris in July 2025 and booked junior suites 42 and 52. They’d been recently renovated, and while they weren’t huge, they were quite spacious for Paris and Saint Germain. Each had two separate areas, with a small bar, kitchenette, and a sofa bed that we used as a sofa, plus a separate bedroom area. Both rooms were great. I think they could sleep three if needed. The washroom was the standout, with a very large shower area and two rain showers. Willy was excellent at check-in. The location was perfect, near restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and shopping, and within walking distance of Marais. This was our third visit to the area in three years and our fourth hotel there. This place is right at the top with one other. Yes, we’d stay again.
