Hôtel Saint-Louis Marais

Our room was charming and full of light, with a huge bathroom. I was sad to leave it, and we loved the historic feel of the building. The reception was helpful, and we appreciated how close we were to Metro lines 4 and 1 and how quiet and charming the neighbourhood was. This was our first time in Paris, and we loved feeling like we were in a local area rather than a tourist spot. On arrival, the hotel told us the air-conditioning had broken down and apologized. They did all they could to make things up to us, providing a few desktop fans while it was being fixed. As Aussies, we’re used to hot nights, and opening the windows brought in enough of a breeze to sleep. The air-conditioning was repaired as promised and worked beautifully.

Le Marais is a beautiful area, and the hotel matched its website description exactly. The staff were courteous and kind. It’s about a 30-minute walk to the Louvres, a lovely morning stroll along the Seine. One thing to know is that the elevator only goes to the third floor. You’ll need to take a spiral staircase up to the fourth, and it’s slightly slanted, so perhaps not ideal if you’re physically impaired.

The room was cosy, clean, and spacious (!) and the staff were very nice. The location is central but on a quiet street. I travel to Paris often and used to live here, and after trying numerous hotels, I think this one is very good value for the price. I’d gladly come back and recommend it for future stays.

Breakfast was a treat each morning, with a range of fresh, tasty choices in a cosy, elegant room. The location is ideal, within walking distance of major sights, charming cafés, and convenient transport. From arrival, the staff were welcoming and professional, always ready to help with a smile. My room was beautifully decorated, spotless, and comfortable, with fresh linens, luxurious toiletries, and a stunning city view. The bed was especially comfortable, making for restful nights after exploring Paris.
