Timhotel Le Louvre

My husband and I stayed here on December 26. As a pregnant traveler, I was horrified by the conditions after being moved through three rooms, all of which failed basic cleanliness and safety standards. Hair was embedded in the carpets and all over the bathroom floors, the sinks and toilets were dirty, and the second room had fecal stains. The hallways smelled of stale smoke, and the pleasant looking exterior hid serious neglect in the guest areas. At 1:00 AM, the fire alarm went off. The front desk staff dismissed our concern, refused to check whether the building was safe, and told guests to return to their rooms because she "didn't smell anything." That was terrifying and irresponsible. Since it was late and I was pregnant, we couldn’t find another hotel or move our luggage until morning, so we felt forced to spend the night there. The next morning, a staff member named Raul acknowledged what happened and said we were "good to go" for a refund on the remaining nights so we could move to a clean American chain hotel. Now we’re back home in the U.S., and the hotel is giving us the runaround and trying to refund less than it owes. They are being dishonest and clearly don’t care about guest health or safety. We have photos of the filth and are pursuing this fully with AMEX. Avoid staying here, especially if traveling pregnant or with children.

Avoid this place at all costs. We were moved through THREE rooms, and every one was filthy. The first had hair all over the floor, stains on the bathroom floor, and a stained counter that hadn’t even been wiped down. Room two was just as bad. In the third, which is shown in the attached photos, there were streaks of what I assume was shampoo on the shower glass, stains on the counter, and what looked like lotion or something coating a table. There was hair in the carpet again.

The staff were kind and the location was great, but the room was extremely dirty. There was dust and grime behind the bed, it smelled bad, and it clearly hadn’t been cleaned properly. I’d booked two rooms, and the one my children stayed in smelled of sewage. I wouldn’t come back.

I was left paying for a hotel stay I couldn’t use, which was really disappointing. I’d booked the wrong dates by mistake and called to explain and ask for a change, but the hotel stuck to its policy and wouldn’t adjust the booking, even though I contacted them as soon as I realized. I understand that policies matter, but a little flexibility would have helped. I’d been looking forward to staying there, but after this experience I don’t want to return. Travelers should know the rules are enforced very rigidly, even when a small gesture of goodwill could make a difference.
