Maison Albar - Le Diamond

For the price, Maison Albar Le Diamond is a comfortable boutique hotel in a very handy part of the 8th arrondissement. It’s close to major train stations, shopping streets, and classic Paris sights, and public transport is easy to reach. The area can be busy and touristy, and it isn’t the quietest, but the hotel itself was peaceful and stayed nicely cool. It’s a good-value base for exploring, though the lobby’s black decor looks a little worn and could use a refresh. It was clean and functional, and the staff were friendly, attentive, and ready to help at nearly any hour. Our room was a good size for central Paris, with a comfortable bed and air conditioning that worked well in the summer heat. The TV was a good size, though casting could be smoother. The carpet was starting to lift in a few spots. The black bathroom looked sleek but felt tight for two people. Its lighting could be brighter, and a shower door would keep water from getting onto the floor. Ventilation was limited, and without an AC vent we sometimes had to open the window. With no screen, insects got in. I didn’t eat at the restaurant, which I expected since there are plenty of dining options a short walk away. The hotel is comfortable and good value overall. You could pay several times more elsewhere and still not get better comfort or service. More frequent linen changes, improved bathroom ventilation, and refreshed decor would make this an even better boutique hotel.

The staff really made me feel welcome and looked after. They were friendly, professional, and happy to help with every request. The hotel is luxurious, beautifully designed, and very comfortable, and I thought it was excellent value. We enjoyed everything from the rooms to the service and atmosphere, and I’m already looking forward to coming back. My best Friends have booked the same suite for a New Year Stay after seeing my video from Maison Albar:)

The setting was nice and the staff were pleasant, but breakfast didn’t feel five-star and the Wi-Fi was terrible. I’d requested early check-in and got no reply, so when I arrived an hour ahead of time, the room wasn’t ready. I’d also paid in advance for a large double bed and a good-sized room, but they tried to put me in a smaller room with twin beds.

The views and customer service were the best part. Housekeeping checked in on me so often that I’d never felt so well cared for at a five-star hotel. The neighborhood is easy to walk around, with lots of shops close by. I can’t wait to visit again.
