Timhotel Paris Gare de Lyon

Be careful, they cancelled my booking just three days before my holiday started, without giving any reason.

The location is perfect, a few blocks from the station and with quick connections anywhere. Staff were welcoming and nice, but the food wasn’t good, so if I stayed again I’d rather have breakfast nearby. The room was nice, though the shower handle had been changed and didn’t fit the door, and they just left it that way. The TV wasn’t smart and had about four channels. The bed was a little too stiff for me, but okay.

We only stayed one night. It’s a simple hotel with good service, and the receptionists were really friendly and polite. Our room was on the terrance, but the street was very quiet. Everything was very clean, the beds were comfortable, and the air conditioning worked well in the hot weather. The bathroom was basic, and there was no shower door, but it wasn’t a big problem.

Checkout was at 6:45am and we were running late for our train, so I tried to take a coffee from the machine to go. The receptionist stopped me and insisted I go back to my room to make it instead. It was humiliating and made me feel unwelcome. We’d arrived a little early, at 12 PM, and although the hotel wasn’t busy, staff wouldn’t give us our room. I could understand if they were busy, but this seemed unnecessary. The staff were rude and unaccommodating. Wouldn’t recommend.
