We stayed in the gite La Bouilloire, a comfortable, authentic place in the Normandie countryside. The gardens are superb, and the estate is surrounded by amazing nature. Its connection to Flaubert childhood adds to the charm. Breakfast was fabulous, with local produce, and the service was welcoming. The only drawback was having just one fan for both rooms, which wasn’t enough on hot nights.
Peaceful location, good food and a friendly host. We had a great stay and recommend it.
Our group of 11 had a wonderful two day off site meeting at the domaine de Geffosse. It’s a peaceful, authentic place, and the meeting room was quiet and had everything we needed to work productively. The service was pleasant, professional and friendly, and meals were excellent and timed around our agenda. Our bedrooms were spacious and very clean, with renovated bathrooms. We’ll be back!
The owners were kind and welcoming, but the rooms really need better maintenance. Our ground floor room was very dark, smelled of mold and felt badly outdated. The bathroom window looked onto the main driveway, so there was little privacy, and we could hear plenty of noise from the bedrooms upstairs. This wasn’t the Normandy weekend getaway we had in mind. The farm itself is in a nice, quiet area. We had breakfast there on our first morning, but it wasn’t very good for the price, almost 10 euros each. We each got a few pieces of bread and croissant with jam, plus two pieces of cheese and ham. For a Normandy farm, it didn’t feel authentic.
We stayed in the chalet, which was lovely, quiet and well kept. The place itself is beautiful, and the owners were hospitable and spoke English. You can use the barbecues for free. Pont l'eveque is nearby for warm days.
