Aparthotel Adagio access la Defense Puteaux

Breakfast was amazing, and the larger studio had everything we needed to feel at home. It was also handy to be able to walk to Esplanade de la Defense station. The temperature, though, was a real problem. It was 19 degrees at the end of December, and since we'd packed light clothes for being indoors, we spent most of the time under the covers. The bathroom heater's Turbo setting warmed that room for showers, but didn't heat the rest of the apartment. We were disappointed to learn we couldn't adjust the remotely controlled thermostat. I'd have been comfortable with a winter range of 18-21 and a summer range of 23-26, which could keep guests comfortable while limiting energy use. Without the cold, this would have been an easy 10/10 for me, but knowing I'd be chilly the whole stay means I can't recommend it.

Olga at reception understood what a 2pm check-in would mean for my parents after their 7am arrival from a 27-hour flight. She let us into the room at 8am for a small fee, and we were grateful for her compassion toward two people in their early 70s. I had asked for early check-in by email and was told it wasn't possible, so I went to reception myself. The staff really went out of their way. The place is conveniently situated and has the facilities for a comfortable, home-like stay.

The staff were very kind, but for the price I wasn't very happy, especially with the cold room and noise next door. I could hear the neighboring guests well past midnight, though that may have been down to their manners, and there seem to be sound insulation issues. Heating wasn't good, so nights felt cold. The metro, Ladefence esplanade / M1, is an 8-10 minute walk away. Luggage storage is available, but security seemed weak without a separate lock or identification check. Towel exchanges cost extra, and free ones are only provided for stays longer than seven days. Cleaning service also isn't offered unless you're staying over seven days, though the room itself was clean. I even found someone's clothes in a closet corner, which I guess points to poor cleaning. I'd probably pay 20 euros more per day next time and stay in the city center.

The room, 604, wasn't cleaned. Still, the receptionist was lovely and friendly, the service was amazing, and the location was nice, peaceful, and quiet.
