We popped in for aperitifs and had a pleasant evening. The owners are charming and welcoming, and I really like the traditional hotel bar and its separate lounge. There’s a big restaurant with a riverside garden terrace for summer, plus a huge car park. It’s an easy walk from Quillan, and we’ll be back for dinner or just drinks. The place deserves a larger sign and better visibility from the road. It shouldn’t be a secret. Thanks again.

It took me right back in time. Yes, it’s VERY old fashioned, but I loved the gentle, polite atmosphere. My husband thinks I’m mad to give it five stars, and would give it two because he wasn’t happy with his meat. But my meal and our friends’ dishes were superb, so I’m writing this review and I win. We’ll be back whether he likes it or not!

Service had a personal touch you don’t get in chain hotels, and we’ll stay here again when we’re back in the area. This place feels like a step back in time, which is part of its charm, and it’s set by the river on the edge of Quillan. The rooms are clean and practical, with large bathrooms. You can get breakfast, lunch and dinner, either from set menus or à la carte. Dinner was delicious and good value. Breakfast came with coffee, juice, yoghurt, bread and croissants, plenty to get you going.

White tablecloths, servers dressed in black, gentle background music and good food. The evening prices are reasonable, and the whole place has an old-fashioned feel.
