Une halte

There was so much for our very active 18-month-old to do that we wish we’d planned fewer outings. We found chickens, woodland paths, a hill to run up and down, a pool, a treehouse worthy of Pinterest, and a very affectionate puppy. Julie lives there with her family, which worked perfectly for us. She was kind and easy to communicate with, while still giving us room to feel at home. Our room had a gorgeous view and carefully chosen decor, plus a TV, Netflix, coffee, and luxury bath products. We loved staying here and hope to return for Julie’s “table de chef” and champagne service.

The place itself was nice, but I found the host unfriendly. When we arrived, she said she didn’t like it when all the guests didn’t arrive together, even though she knew we were a family group. We also had to take our own wine-bottle waste with us, as the host wouldn’t deal with it. At checkout, the room was inspected in a way that made us feel suspected. A shame.

The owner found the car key we left behind, but it still hasn’t been returned. I’ve written five times over the past five months and received replies, yet they haven’t sent it back. This has been extremely frustrating and a real mess for us. I’ve never experienced behavior this egocentric and unacceptable. Sending the key would take ten minutes.

The room and the setting were exceptional, and the pool was magnificent. Julie and Renée-Bernard were friendly and attentive hosts. We only stayed one night, unfortunately, but we’ll definitely come back to see you and try your food. Thank you, and good luck with the sporting challenge coming up. Stéphane and Carole
