The gardens were lovely, and we slept really well in a peaceful room. The pool and steam room were good too. The person at reception was lovely, and the self-catering room was brilliant. We stayed just one night and paid extra for breakfast, which was brought to our room so we could sit and enjoy it. Would definitely recommend.

We had a house for our holiday with the boys, so there was plenty of space. It came with a kitchen, fridge, washing machine, and dishwasher, though we didn’t use the kitchen much since we ate out. Breakfast was served at the house. The pool was clean and nice, with jets and bubbles. The sauna wasn’t as hot as we’re used to, but the steam room was nice, and the staff were extremely helpful.

The food was awful, just microwave meals, and five of the six we ordered arrived cold or partly frozen. I also cut my foot on a water vent in the pool floor and needed three stitches. All I got was a “sorry, that way is A&E.” There was no hot water on the first day, so everyone had cold showers. There was nobody to report it to, and the boiler was locked away in a cupboard. The beds were uncomfortable, and the only sofa, shared between six of us, was the most uncomfortable I’ve ever sat on. It was really that bad. I’d never go back or recommend it to someone I disliked.

You can shut out the city here, even though you're right in the middle of it. The hotel is quiet, clean, and spacious, a great little escape. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for that.
