Breakfast was simple and quaint, with juice, yoghurt, croissants, and bread. This little hotel is right in the heart of Rocamadour, an amazing medieval city. The top-floor rooms are a bit small, but that’s no problem for a night or two. The views over the Alzou Canyon are spectacular. Look out for the hot air balloon in the morning.

Everything was delicious and nicely seasoned, definitely yummy. I’d have liked more variety within each dish, though. A bit more depth there would have made it a five-star meal.

The portions are generous, I had a massive salad. The staff were nice and the service was good, and the terrace has a lovely view over the valley.

The rooms are on the small side, but that doesn’t really matter for just a night or two. The terrace has amazing views.

The rooms are small but comfortable, and from ours we could see across the valley to the crags on the other side. Best of all, hot air balloons sailed past our bedroom window early in the morning. The location is excellent.
