Camping Les Plages de Loire

We had a great stay, with a friendly, helpful welcome at reception. The site was a good base for cycling some sections of the Loire Velo. Facilities were a good standard and centrally placed, with what you need. The motorhome service point, including the WC emptying point, is by the entrance.

The road alongside the campsite was busier than I expected, and I noticed it while sitting outside during the day. At night, though, there was very little traffic, so it never became too intrusive. The pitches were spacious, staff were genuinely helpful, and everything was well maintained. It's also well placed for the Loire cycling routes. I'd stay again.

The staff were very friendly, and being able to walk easily into town from this quiet site was handy. We had a motorhome pitch with electricity, and got a lovely corner spot, though the pitch sizes vary quite a bit. The takeaway was a nice extra, especially the excellent frites, and you can order bread to pick up in the morning. Some areas looked a little untidy, with longer-term caravans and tents, though that may not be the management's responsibility. Toilets and showers were about average for France.

The area is good for cycling, and the river is only a 30-second walk away for a swim. Toilets and showers were relatively clean, and there's a restaurant and bar about 50 metres from the site, open until 1 am. But it was noisy around the clock. Our tent was three metres from a road, with only bushes between us, and neighbours outside the site played loud, bad music, singing and shouting until 11:30 pm. It could be a great place without all that noise.
