Clarion Paris CDG Airport Hotel

The pool was nice, with a back massager fountain, though I thought having to pay extra to use it was silly. The hot tub could have been hotter and bigger, and the sauna was nice, but its door was difficult to open. We had a great night, and the location was just right for us, near the airport and car chargers. Staff were very friendly. The room was comfortable with a nice balcony, a TV that worked well and even had some English stations, and a clothes heater in the bathroom. The tub took a bit of figuring out. All in all, a nice stay, thanks.

After the Iran-US war began the day before our departure, my family and I were stranded in Paris. Emirates arranged another four days for us, with two rooms and three meals throughout. The hotel is about 10 minutes from the airport by shuttle; Uber may cost a little less than a third-party shuttle. Aéroville mall is nearby, with boutiques and a large supermarket. Our room was huge and clean, with a kitchenette, bathtub, and separate shower and toilet. Housekeeping missed our room two days in a row, but the staff were very kind. I asked one woman for two bottles of water and she brought four, and told us to take anything we needed to replenish the room. Two front desk staff could be unfriendly at times, though the rest of the team were great and helpful. The dining staff were especially kind at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Mr Yusoff (hope I spell correctly) and the lady who often served dinner were fantastic. It was a great airport hotel to be assigned to.

The room was cleaned daily, with fresh towels and washed glasses. Breakfast was okay, though the same things appeared each day, and the à la carte food was good. I'd go for the dish of the day, about 19€, which changes daily and beats the items you see on nearly every menu. People working there were friendly and helpful, and the lobby and restaurant look really nice. Still, for a 4 star hotel, the old building needs a lot of restoration. The bathtub took half an hour to fill because the water ran so slowly; the toilet seat wobbled and the door threshold was dangerously loose. The Spa bath was missing or broken tiles and a shower regulator. In a two-person room, the wardrobe wasn't enough for one person staying six days. There were no hangers or glasses, and no forks, spoons, or knives in the apartment. If you're sensitive to noise, this may not be the right place. It's close to the airport and highway, with planes taking off and landing all day and night, almost every two minutes during the day.

The location and price did the job, but we won't be back. We liked Roissy-en-France and will look at other places there next time. We booked an executive suite because we needed somewhere near the airport and had extra Choice Hotel points. It was awful: the furniture was old and dirty, the couches had lots of stains, and the desk looked ready to fall apart. We were too grossed out to sit on the couches. We also had to kill several mosquitoes overnight. This was the EXECUTIVE SUITE, so I can't imagine what the basic rooms are like. To be fair, management apologized and offered a free upgrade with breakfast and free spa access on a future stay after we complained. I shudder to think how clean the spa might be.
