Residence Inn by Marriott Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport

We left the hotel at 8:30 pm after spending the day moving rooms and waiting in the cold with our 15 month old baby. By 9 pm we were looking for somewhere else to stay, and checked into a hotel in La Défense at 9:53 pm. We stayed there for the rest of the trip. Later, when we disputed the charge with our financial institution, the hotel claimed we had stayed the full duration. That's untrue, and we have proof we checked into the new hotel the same night we left. We still haven't received the 10,000 Bonvoy points offered by Mr. Yovan, the supervisor, who also said he couldn't refund us and told us to contact Bonvoy or our bank. We had booked three prepaid nights through the Marriott Bonvoy app and arrived around noon after an overnight flight, with our 15 month old baby. The desk said our room was ready, but it had dirty sheets, wet towels, and signs the previous guest had just left. They apologized, gave us two drink coupons, and moved us. The second room looked cleaner, but smelled strongly of mold and was a connecting room, which we weren't comfortable with. We went back to reception and got a third room on the 5th floor. By then, we'd dragged six large suitcases, two smaller bags and a stroller across several floors with a tired baby. The third room was freezing. The controls didn't work, and reception said the heating was managed by software. Technicians supposedly adjusted it, but nothing changed. After dinner, more technicians asked us to wait 30-45 minutes. An hour later it was still unbearably cold. We wore our winter jackets indoors, and our baby had started coughing and developed a runny nose. My husband went to reception and was promised a space heater within 15 minutes. Half an hour later, they said none were available because other guests were using them. The service was unacceptable, and the rooms were dirty, smelly and freezing. How they handled the situation with a family and baby was unbelievable.

The people were nice, the room was great, and it's an easy walk from CDG airport. It took this American a bit to figure out the master switch and shower controls, but it was a great stay.

I only stay at Marriott properties, but this was my worst experience with them. At check-in I was told my status meant dinner and breakfast were included, then they charged me for both at checkout. The cooling system in my room was broken, and all night felt like sleeping in a sauna. They advertised free airport transfer, but you have to walk half a mile to the train station first. What a joke. After 10 days in the country and a different hotel every night, I was sad for my trip to end this way.

I was worried after reading some reviews, but we had a great stay. The rooms were spacious, comfortable and clean, and the hotel is really convenient for early morning flights from CDG. Breakfast was AMAZING. No complaints.
