We had to leave before breakfast started, so couldn’t try it. The airport shuttle costs extra and only goes to Terminal 2B, leaving you to make your own way if your flight is from another terminal. For the price, I wouldn’t stay here again. Our first room smelled very strongly of cigarette smoke, but they moved us to another. That room didn’t smell, though its door looked as if it had been forced and the room broken into before. The rooms were old and run down, but clean apart from the smoke. Doors squeak and bang, and there’s very little sound insulation between the room and hallway.

We decided to leave at 4:30 am rather than try to sleep any longer. The walls were thin enough that we heard doors in the hallway, toilets flushing, taps running, and the neighbors, who stayed up until 3 am. Every time they opened the bathroom door it squeaked and slammed. There were chips and dents in the walls and floorboards, and the new room’s door jamb had been forced, as if someone had broken in before. It reminded me of the cheapest motel I’ve stayed in. The first room reeked of smoke, and the hallways were dirty with trash left out. After we complained, they moved us. Service was reasonable, if only slightly apologetic, but I don’t understand how the room could be cleaned without anyone noticing that smell. The airport shuttle costs extra and only goes to one terminal, not ours. We stayed at another Novotel 10 years ago and it was much better. I think the standard has gone way downhill.

You can reserve a shuttle or taxi to get to the airport. The room was spacious but not clean, and I don’t think this hotel should have a four-star rating.

Gui made our stay special. He told us about the arcade games and table football, which we enjoyed while having a drink at the bar. All the staff were fantastic, and Gui was especially helpful. Breakfast was great, with lots of variety, and the hotel was good value with exceptional service. We’d definitely return and recommend it. We were two adults and two children in a family room near the airport. There was plenty of space, and we loved the divider between the two parts of the room.
