Hotel Morand

Everything felt fresh and tasty at breakfast, and there were lots of choices at a reasonable price. That was a pleasant surprise. The staff were friendly, kind, and efficient, and arranged nearby public parking for us. The rooms were large, clean, and comfortable, with good Wi-Fi. The hotel is central and within walking distance of Rouen’s main sights: the art museum and “Secq des Tournelles” museum are opposite, while the old market, cathedral, Palace of Justice, and horologe are also close. We appreciated the hotel a lot.

It was quiet and peaceful, even with the windows open, and the place was clean with friendly staff. A few things to know: there’s no lift, and the stairs to the third floor are steep, so ask ahead for a ground-floor room if you need one. There’s no air conditioning, and it gets very hot in summer. Our room was tiny, with barely enough space to pass between the wall and the end of the bed. There was no hairdryer, so bring your own. Those are minor issues, and I’d stay again.

The bed was comfy, and the bedding was fresh and really clean. The hotel itself was spotless and warm, and we got a welcoming reception at the desk. It’s an older place and looks a bit tired, but don’t let that put you off. For the price and location, it’s great value.

This was a charming place, really close to the train station. The breakfast was simple but good quality. The reception Monsieur was very kind and kept trying to make us comfortable. The hotel used to be an old post office, and the renovation still leaves the history visible in the interior.
