I’ve come back several times, and after those visits I think this hotel deserves at least 4 stars. I first gave it only 3. Prices are very reasonable for the overall quality. The place has an old-fashioned feel, like a trip back to old France, and you might even wonder whether the Tour Eiffel can be seen from the windows. The building is clearly centuries old, but I found its upkeep proper and careful. WiFi was better than in many pricier hotels, the shower temperature could be set very precisely, and the bed had first-class linen. The rooms haven’t all been updated to the same degree, which may explain the mixed comments.

The hotel smells of cigarettes, and I strongly advise against staying here. I went out to dinner, then called reception when I returned because I needed help with the wifi for work. The owner came to my room visibly furious, apparently because he thought it was too late for anyone to use the internet. Calling 9 for reception may wake him and set off his temper. It was clear to me he could become violent at any moment. After I managed to calm things down, he kept insisting on seeing my wife while she was showering. He went so far as to touch her underwear so she would get dressed and speak to him. It was completely unhinged. I barricaded the door for the night and barely slept because I didn't know what he might do. I expect any response they post here will be a lie. Again, don't stay. The owner seems prone to violent outbursts.

The owner made us feel on edge all night after we called reception, treating us terribly. In the morning, when we went to pay, he even snatched the card from my husband's hand. I've never felt this threatened in a hotel. He was aggressive, and I strongly warn people against staying here. He shouldn't be working in a hotel.

The staff were helpful and nice, and both the breakfast and restaurant were good. Rooms are clean, though a little small. For more space, choose the family room.
