The views are superb, and there’s good walking nearby. The chalet itself only really fits four people, though. The kitchen cupboards need a proper restock, and the pots and pans look like they’ve been around since the last century.

I couldn’t get through to the owners on the phone number provided. There’s also a serious leak: when the shower is used, water comes through the ceiling downstairs.

There are several hiking trails that start right in the village of Saint Andéol, and the Tétra Lyre holiday center is very helpful if you need information. The chalets are spotless and have loads of room for a family of four, with all the comforts you could want. They’re very well equipped, too, and the views are superb.

The quiet and peaceful setting in the Vercors makes the chalets de Pré Clos a lovely place to recharge. We felt at ease straight away thanks to the warm welcome, and the little jar of jam they gave us was a thoughtful touch. It felt like a gentle break from everything.
