The breakfast was generous, the rooms gorgeous, and there’s a swimming pool too. Ask to see the 1000 year old cellar. Thank you, Serge, for a lovely stay in the Loire.

I’ve visited other places, but this castle palace feels unique. It’s a very cozy place to stay.
A lovely, welcoming place to enjoy nature.
The room had a damp smell, and condensation on the windows backed that up. The bed linens were stained, the bedding looked old, the furniture was broken or damaged, and the bathroom hadn’t been cleaned. There was hair in the shower, all the faucets leaked, and the radiator and bathtub coverings were coming off. Outside, the estate seemed abandoned at the start of autumn. The entrance looked like a sign of its poor upkeep, with everything unkempt. Vegetation and dead leaves nearly hid the paths, and the ponds were full of leaves. We spent a weekend at the chateau in early October. The stay was satisfactory in some ways, but it left a bitter taste. We felt the chateau was being run as cheaply as possible. There’s a lot we could accept at a bed and breakfast, but an establishment should maintain its furniture, housekeeping, and bed linens. I won’t even get into breakfast. At 15 euros per person, it was outrageous and not even worthy of a 2-star hotel.
A luxurious, peaceful haven in a charming setting. It could use a little updating to meet the standard, though.
