Les Oiseaux de Passage

I stayed here while visiting friends, and the host was very accommodating. The breakfast was good, and so was his restaurant.

An unhurried little stop in the countryside, the sort of place you don't want to leave. Hôtel Les Oiseaux de Passage in Saint-Gaultier was a lovely surprise. It’s set in a former shoe shop, renovated with care that preserves the building’s history. There’s an understated old-fashioned charm alongside a little modernity, and the place has a distinctive atmosphere with a pleasant, almost nostalgic scent. The rooms are simple, tasteful, and spotless. The bathrooms and toilets worked perfectly. They’re just right for two, without needless extras. There’s no television, which feels like a rare chance to slow down and enjoy the moment. The bedding was exceptional, and there’s a kettle with coffee and tea, a thoughtful touch. Parking nearby was easy and convenient. The setting is peaceful and idyllic, almost like another world. We wholeheartedly recommend it for rural charm, quiet, and a real sense of escape. A simple, genuine, elegant stopover, and a must-see.

Thierry was incredibly attentive during our one-night stay at Les Oiseaux de Passage, and we were delighted to meet him. The rooms are comfortable, the setting is charming, and the decor is tasteful. Breakfast and service were both excellent. Thierry also owns Les Chimères, just a few meters from the hotel, and treated us to creative, flavorful food with influences from around the world. We found the rooms spacious and the beds comfortable, and there’s secure storage for bicycles. It’s a pleasant hotel for a stay of one night or longer. If you’re staying here, you might want to book a table at Les Chimères, the restaurant run by the same owner.
