My wife and I had a fabulous Sunday lunch at Le Lion d'Or in St Genies d'Olt, Aveyron. It was warm and sunny, so we sat outside beneath a shady tree. The food was delicious, and the waiters and waitresses were attentive, professional, and friendly. Special thanks to Stephen, who helped interpret when we had the odd lapse into English. The meal lasted for about, and my wife and I couldn't have asked for more. We recommend the restaurant at Le Lion d'Or to everyone. We came back for a second lunch a few days later, and it was just as enjoyable and up to the same high standard.

Unpretentious and genuine, this place is affordable, popular, and serves very good food with excellent service and hosting in a paradise setting. I'm French but live abroad, and if I had to recommend one stay to friends around the world to experience France at its best, this would be among my top five. Coming back here with the people I love is a life goal!

We got a typically warm welcome, and the regional food was fabulous. It's a lovely setting too.
