We’d been away for a year or two and were really pleased to find the service and food still at a five-star level. My husband can’t eat meat, but there were plenty of salads for him, and we appreciated having a fish choice at every meal. We’d planned on one night and wound up extending our stay. If they had a sauna and some basic gym equipment, we might have stayed even longer :)

We come here for family lunches. It’s great value for money and I highly recommend it!

Maison du Val has become one of our favorite weekend escapes, and our second stay was just as wonderful as the first. We didn’t want to leave. It’s an easy trip from central Paris on the RER A, and within an hour you’re surrounded by beautiful grounds and greenery that feel like the countryside. We loved having so much to do without paying extra for the facilities. The game rooms, cinema, and Nordic bath were big hits, while the kids’ club and activities kept the children busy all weekend and gave us adults some downtime. The rooms aren’t especially luxurious, but they’re comfortable and have what you need. Sunday brunch was another highlight, with a great range of high-quality food. We could have lingered at the table for hours. The landscaped grounds are lovely to explore or simply relax in, and make for a peaceful break from the city. We can’t wait to return.

My wife, our 7-year-old daughter, and I spent last weekend here, and it was such a peaceful family break by the forest. There’s hardly any noise, and the place feels very family-friendly. The kids’ club was great, and there’s also a pool table, baby foot, flipper, and home cinema. Outside, we enjoyed the games, table tennis, football, hot tubs, trampoline, and the little bicycle carts called Rosalies. The rooms are so-so, and the showers are a bit depressing. But you don’t come here to spend time indoors, and we slept really well in the quiet. It’s all-inclusive, with three buffet meals and a snack around 4pm each day. Everything is homemade, including the dishes, cakes, macarons, crepes, and even the chocolate spread, which a pastry chef makes. There’s an open bar for alcohol as well as non-alcoholic drinks. Concierge Francois and manager Sara looked after us at all hours. Thank you both. The weekend had that lovely end-of-vacation feeling, when everyone tries to savour the time together because it won’t last. We’ll see you again!

The staff made us feel at home from the receptionist through to the chef, who cooked us fantastic meals. The quiet here is sublime, and there’s even the option of sleeping in a high-quality tree tent to watch the stars. It’s a wonderful place for couples or families, especially if you love nature, beauty, and silence. We highly recommend this castle.
