I spotted this place while wandering around the night before, looking for a decent cafe for breakfast on my second day in SJPP. It opens at 7.30, and the breakfast was good. The service was really helpful and friendly. If you make it here, enjoy it. I did.

Not a pleasant experience. Staff were unfriendly and seemed interested only in money, with no real service. There was no clear menu, and the waitress rattled it off without mentioning prices. The food was plonked down with no cutlery or napkin. Then came the bill: €2.50 for a small bag of chips and €7.50 for a reheated panini. Getting a receipt was impossible, and they didn't even say goodbye. Draw your own conclusion.

The location was fantastic, right in the center, and there was enough room to sort out our kit before setting off on the Camino. Sabine was a gem and ready to help with whatever we needed. Her reassuring presence was lovely as we started our adventure. We had a good stay!

This is my favorite place to stay in St Jean. It isn't crowded, the single beds are comfortable, and it's quiet enough for a good night's sleep. The showers are clean and have hot water. I've stayed here five times now, and Sabine is the best. The home-cooked food is good and extremely reasonably priced. I'll be back for at least one more stay.

A beautiful house with plenty of Basque charm. It's clean and quiet, the staff are friendly, and being able to do laundry there was great. A great place to stay in St Jean!
