The generous breakfast was served in a kitchen guests can use, and the room had good bedding, plenty of space, tasteful furnishings, bottled water, and tea-making facilities. It’s a lovely old house, carefully renovated, out in the countryside but near tourist spots, with parking on the property. Our hostess was adorable, welcoming, and helpful, and offered us apple juice when we arrived. There’s also a heated pool for the high season, though we didn’t try it because it wasn’t open yet. One thing to know if you have a wheelchair: the path from the parking area to the house is gravel and may be awkward. At the very start or end of the season, I’d ask them to turn on the heating before you arrive. The old rooms can be cold and damp, and take a while to warm up.

The heated pool was a real treat, and the beach is only 10 minutes away. It’s such a peaceful spot, with lovely decor throughout, and the hosts are charming. Thanks again for such a warm welcome. I’d happily recommend this beautiful guesthouse.

Breakfast was good, and there’s a kitchenette available if you need it. We also had a large, nicely decorated bedroom with a big screen, a lovely bathroom, and a comfortable bed. The welcome included a little drink and some dinner tips. There’s a heated pool too, though we unfortunately didn’t have time to try it. A very good stay all round, and we highly recommend the place.

We were so pleased with our stay at Le Mottay, and we’ll definitely come back. The garden setting is lovely, and the heated pool was beautifully looked after. Breakfast was plentiful, delicious, and nicely prepared. The owners were kind and very attentive, and the whole place felt clean and practical, with everything we needed. Since we’d said we were coming to relax before our wedding, they had champagne and flowers waiting in our room. That thoughtful surprise really touched us. Thanks to Elodie and her husband, we had a wonderful time.
