DOMITYS - Les Papillons d'Azur

We started our stay badly. The apartment was set up for four people, but several basics were missing: only two glasses, two spoons, and two sets of towels. It also lacked simple kitchen utensils like a cutting knife, corkscrew, and spatula, though we hadn't planned to cook. The worst part was the sofa, which smelled strongly of urine. Reception sent a cleaner to check it, and then said the manager would contact us. The manager came a few minutes later, checked the sofa, apologized, and offered two one-bedroom apartments instead. That didn't suit us, travelling with two younger children. We asked to stay in the four-bed family apartment and have the sofa replaced with another family-sized one, or enough armchairs for all of us. She hesitated and said she'd get back to us. It took over an hour for staff to replace the smelly sofa with a clean-smelling two-seater, and they said that was all they could do. My husband wanted to ask about adding a single chair or some compensation, perhaps a slightly later checkout or a drink at the bar. The receptionist said the manager would come back to us, but instead she avoided us for the rest of our stay. I found her extremely unprofessional and cowardly. Avoiding customers isn't a good quality in a manager. After we contacted Domitys Customer service as requested, they said they'd offer us complimentary breakfast if we returned. We definitely won't. Could Domitys have offered compensation at another one of their locations to make things right? Of course, but they chose not to. Extremely disappointing.
