Lovely atmosphere and music, and the owner was really kind. The pitches for tents, cars, and campers are very nice, and the price is reasonable too. I’d recommend this campsite. It would have been five stars if there hadn’t been so many wasps and if the bathroom had been cleaner.

There’s a lot going on at Medrose itself, even though there isn’t much to do nearby. They put on music, lessons, and painting for kids, all free. We heard a pianist, a singer, and a guitar and clarinet duo. You can hike in the area, though you’ll need to map out routes yourself; the walks are nice but not spectacular. Cycling seems more popular. It’s a family-friendly place to relax, with a good restaurant, a cute little shop, and three small pools, the largest 15m long. The entrance area has a bohemian feel, and there’s a nice play area for younger kids. The bar serves good coffee and sells bread. Pitches have plenty of shade, the sanitary facilities are clean and well maintained, and the staff are friendly and cooperative. Prices are fair. A few things could be better. There are lots of rental tents, and as the space for tents, campers, and caravans shrinks, the site takes on a different feel. Music and events can run until 23:30, which may be too late or too loud. Turning it down at 22:30 might help. We were glad to leave before karaoke night. Some tiles are loose around the pool, an easy fix, and the banquettes felt a bit dense, so I’d suggest another baker. We really enjoyed our stay. It’s a great spot to unwind and let the kids have fun, and with so little to improve, I’d give it 5 out of 5.

We stayed three days, and I’m already thinking about coming back for longer. The service was pleasant, and the place has great amenities, including quality accommodation, three pools, a restaurant, and a club. It’s very family- and kid-friendly, with a nice bonus location by the river and below the rocks.

If you’re over 50 but feel 20 and want an Ibiza-style night in your garden, you might enjoy it here. We wanted to sleep, but loud music kept us awake until midnight. After we complained, drunk French people who weren’t even staying at the campsite walked through and shouted and talked until 02.30 AM. Our children woke several times. For families, this campsite was a huge disappointment. There’s no playground, the swimming pool was very disappointing, and the restaurant isn’t child-friendly at all. We wouldn’t come back with children.

The pool, mobile homes, and the rest of the property were in excellent condition, so I might have overlooked the unwelcoming, unfriendly, and uninformative staff. But two young staff members sat just two meters from a guest and mocked him loudly, laughing together and showing no concern that he and his family could hear. It’s a shame the staff were so inhospitable that they made the stay uncomfortable, because this could be a great site.
