Breakfast was just right, and the owners were every bit as thoughtful and elegant as the place itself. My room was spectacular, blending historic warmth with modern features that had been fitted in with real care. A beautiful stay, and one of my favorites ever.

We were four and used the extra cot, so we all got a good night's sleep before continuing south. The host looked after us well. The place was surprisingly beautiful, and we all agreed the town and hotel deserved a longer, proper visit.

The garden is beautiful, the rooms are comfortable, and the welcome is wonderfully warm. It's also well placed for historic Senlis, Chaalis, and Ermenonville. We had a relaxing stay, though I wish we'd booked more than one night.

This was our second visit, and we'll book well ahead again so we can return before flying home from CDG airport. The property is a real find, dating from the 17th and 18th centuries and beautifully renovated in recent years. Aline brought plates, glasses, and cutlery when we arrived with food for dinner, so we could eat in the garden, without us even asking. The owners are a charming couple in their 50s who speak French and English. Breakfasts brought together guests from several European countries, chatting in different languages. We booked three months ahead for two nights in high season, which apparently makes us 'Sicherheit Fanatica' auf Deutschland.
