Appart-Hôtel Chanzy/Angoulême

The patio didn't feel private, with just a few totally faded artificial plants between the two terraces and dried grass left in the pots. Inside, the bedding was comfortable and clean, though there weren't many dishes. The apartment was as described. Private parking was a real plus, and getting to the bus was very easy.

The kitchen was well equipped, and the bathroom and toilet were clean and comfortable. The room and its amenities were also clean and adequate. There wasn't anyone at reception, and although the ATM was there, it had no cash. Sound carried badly through the walls, and our neighbors were very noisy and very affectionate, which made things unpleasant.

Apartment L6 was roomy, nicely decorated and had everything we needed. The welcome was really warm, and the price was good for what we got. We're coming back in two weeks. 👍

The coffee machine was heavily scaled and leaking, though it was replaced right away after I called, which was great. The apartment itself was nicely furnished, but the cleaning was awful. The furniture was dusty or smeared, and with the sun shining on them, the windows were so dirty you couldn't see out. Water took several minutes to drain from both the bathroom and sink. The dishes were old but usable, while the cutlery was a jumble of rotten pieces that should be thrown out. It's a shame, because the place is otherwise nice to stay in. With better cleaning and replacement of the run-down kitchen equipment, I'd recommend it. At more than €100 a night, I expect the place to be clean and properly equipped.
