Hôtel Vendôme

It was fine for the price I paid. The hotel is right by the station, with restaurants and shops nearby, and Strasbourg is easy to explore on foot. Reception staff were friendly. My room was a decent size, with a large, firm bed and plenty of pillows. It was quiet and I slept well. I didn’t see a safe, so I had to carry my valuables with me. As other reviews mention, it could use a deep clean. The shower head was covered in limescale, and the area around the bath taps needed a good scrub.

Don’t book this hotel. They made a mistake with a customer’s cancellation and charged €187. They’re unprofessional and have no credit. I’ve traveled all over the world, and this is the first time I’ve encountered such a nasty hotel.

The staff were wonderful, very friendly, and so helpful. They even kept our luggage while we waited for our train. The neighborhood felt calm and safe, and the location was perfect: barely a two-minute walk from the train station and less than ten minutes on foot to the city center. My family and I stayed over the Christmas Holidays and were very happy with our visit. We booked two rooms, and the booking process went smoothly. The rooms were clean and well kept. It was a lovely, unforgettable stay. We’d definitely recommend it and might come back if we visit Strasbourg again.

The reception team, especially Pascale, Yosri and Marc, were super friendly and helpful. They spoke fluent English and several other languages, even Greek! The hotel is very close to the railway station, with lots of shops nearby. Rooms were clean, but they need renovation, and fridges should be added. At 187 euros a night from 5-8 May, I expected more. The night shift was the opposite of helpful. Each night I came back, the person on duty seemed indifferent, watched TV, and ignored the entrance bell, leaving me waiting outside for quite a while. He was rude and his English was basic, which didn’t meet the service I expected at that price, or in general. I also found a substantial rate drop when checking out (picture added), which was unacceptable. Prices seem to double or triple during EP plenary weeks in Strasbourg, and I guess that may happen at other hotels in the city too.
