Breakfast was a letdown for both the food and the service, and the thin walls meant we could hear everything from neighboring rooms. Our room also involved taking the lift and then stairs, which was a pain with suitcases. The bed was okay, though less comfortable than at other Ibis hotels, and the bathroom was clean. We came for the Strasbourg Christmas markets, and the location seemed ideal. But parking was a real problem: we hadn't been told clearly that a space needed to be reserved, and reaching the car park means crossing tram tracks. When we arrived on the evening of Saturday 20 December, the receptionist was rude and treated it as our problem. She suggested another lot, but it was full. Luckily, we knew the area and drove out to a park and ride. If you're bringing a car and don't know Strasbourg, I'd avoid this hotel. I've stayed at many Ibis hotels as an Accor All Diamond member, and this one ranks near the bottom for me. Customer service needs a lot of work, and I wouldn't recommend it.

Jenesha was absolutely wonderful. I still don't know why this place doesn't score higher. Around Christmas, everywhere I checked in and near Petit France was wildly expensive. This was about 159, much less than aaaaaany of the others, and it had the basics I wanted: clean sheets and floors, three pillows, plenty of towels, soap, shower gel, hot water, and a heater that worked really well. I also saw filtered water in the lobby. People were bringing dinner into the breakfast area, which seemed like a nice option if you don't want to eat out but don't want to eat in your room either. I don't know whether that's against the rules, but I thought it was great. I'd definitely stay here again.

Safia and Genesia made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. They were friendly, professional, and clearly cared about looking after us. Their service was what really made this hotel stand out. The Christmas market was only about a five-minute walk away, and popular sights were close too. We had a fantastic, comfortable stay, and I'd wholeheartedly recommend this hotel.

The location near Petit France and the trams is hard to beat. The staff were good, and breakfast was more complete than I expected, with eggs and sausage as well as European-style breads, cheeses, and meats. The rooms themselves are very basic. If your room faces the tram, expect noise while the trams are running.
