Le Dome

We thought we were renting the Black apartment, but by mistake we ended up with the white one. A photo showing an open connection between the two flats misled us, even though that setup is no longer valid. Other reviews had already mentioned this and the bathroom smell, but the owners didn’t remove the picture or seem to act on those complaints. We’re tall, and this place doesn’t work for tall people. If we’d known, we wouldn’t have booked it. Better communication from the owners might have improved the review. They didn’t seem to care, responding with ironic and sarcastic remarks. It felt as though getting the money without hassle or extra care was all that mattered. We also left food and bottles worth 100+ Euros in the fridge, carefully vacuum-sealed. A few hours after leaving, we tried to get them back, but were told they had been destroyed because of some “covid” measures. For sealed goods and bottles, come on. A simple email or phone call to say we’d forgotten things would have helped. We were in the area all day after checking out, so collecting them would have taken just minutes. The “white” appartement is under the eaves and has no charm or character, with no particular décor or warm touches. The stairwell and building, though, are quite charming. Avoid it if you’re tall, especially because the toilets are tiny, or if you want charm. There are many more appealing places nearby for a similar price. This was a terrible experience, probably my worst after many rentals through Booking worldwide.

The apartment is right in the pedestrian zone, on the fifth floor, with a fantastic view over Strasbourg and especially the cathedral. Exceptionally beautiful.

The view from the bedroom windows is lovely, taking in the cathedral and Strasbourg rooftops, with the gentle sound of the cathedral bells. The room itself was very nice, and you can take the elevator all the way to the top floor, a real plus in such a beautiful old building. The location is fantastic, right beside the cathedral. The only drawback for a group of four is that you have to pass through the upstairs room to get to the toilet. I highly recommend it.

The apartment was perfect in every respect: it was comfortable, well located, and had all the amenities. Nothing to complain about.
