The breakfast buffet was phenomenal, with caviar, every kind of bread and pastry I could imagine, plus fruit, yogurt, meats, and lots of vegetables. The lobby is chic, and the location is outstanding. Staff were kind and helpful: when the little room fridge stopped working and I needed it for medicine, they replaced it right away. The bathtub is deep and nice. There were a few inconveniences with the room. There’s nowhere to store folded clothes, just a place to hang things, and not enough space for luggage. One luggage rack wasn’t enough for two people with winter clothes. They brought up another one, which was thoughtful, but the room became crowded and we still had to dig through our suitcases for clothes throughout the stay. I’d highly recommend it.

Those first two days really showed what Hotel Leonor can do. A kind, gentle young woman at reception helped us arrange a doctor’s appointment, and the breakfast staff were warm, attentive, and professional. We genuinely thought the hotel understood hospitality. But our arrival had gone very differently. We were excited, since the stay was a Christmas gift, and the brunette receptionist with glasses quickly took the Christmas spirit out of it. We didn’t have a credit card, and she made us feel awkward, embarrassed, and unexpectedly poor. She came across as cold, defensive, and judgmental instead of welcoming or helpful. Even without a credit card, we were still guests, and she was still an employee. Breakfast then went downhill after those lovely first days. On Christmas morning a different group of young staff were there, and empty plates seemed to be treated as table décor. We sat for 20-25 minutes with plates in front of us before having to call someone over just to make enough room on the table. The hotel clearly has potential, but the hospitality should be consistent. A guest’s experience, especially at Christmas, shouldn’t be spoiled right at the door. And I understand it was Christmas, but finding housekeeping in my room at 4 p.m. felt more like a holiday surprise than luxury service.

The rooms were spacious, modern, and comfortable, with complimentary water, juices, and coffee in each one. There are lots of restaurants, shops, and local attractions within walking distance. The hotel itself has beautiful facilities, friendly customer service, and a very nice restaurant where they serve a great breakfast buffet. You can ask about complimentary access to a nearby fitness center. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone coming to the area.

The courtyard was the highlight for me, a beautiful, peaceful place to unwind. This property brings historic character together with modern sophistication. The food was exceptional, and the staff were truly lovely.
