Hôtel Mercure Strasbourg Centre Petite France

The only good thing was that they let us check out late. But just two minutes after the agreed time, staff were knocking repeatedly and calling us, which stressed us so much we left some things in the room closet. The bed was awful, and the pillows were worse. I'm not a fussy sleeper, but I was awake for half the night. There isn't even a fridge in the room. The hotel is near the old town entrance and the train station, a reasonable location, though there are more central options. In the bathroom the toilet was so close to the wall that it was uncomfortable to use and made the toilet paper hard to reach. There was nowhere to hang or put towels. The sink was awkward too, with a badly placed tap, and the soap dispenser sat beyond the counter, so it dripped and overflowed whenever used.

The breakfast was excellent, and the staff were friendly. The room was small, but it worked for us. Great spot, close to both the railway station and Petite France.

The staff are very nice and the location is ideal for exploring town. Room 202, the wheelchair accessible room, was the smallest I've ever stayed in and only just met the basics. There's barely room to move a wheelchair around the main room. In the bathroom, there's only one grab bar on one side of the toilet, no shower curtain, and no emergency alarm in case of a fall.

I loved the area and the hotel, and I'm coming back this August with friends. I stayed for three nights two years ago as a planned break during my solo bike tour. After four weeks of travelling, the cozy top floor room felt like a real bedroom, which I had missed. The staff were friendly and the location was perfect for me. Breakfast had good choices, about an 8/10. If I'm nitpicking, the tables in the breakfast room are packed pretty tightly.
