The lounge is a plus, with free tea, coffee, and snacks available all day, and check-in was quick. The place was clean and looked well maintained. But the rooms are tiny, with a very minimalist setup, and the bathroom offers no privacy at all. It feels more like a decent one-night business stop or a fancy hostel, a bit like the Ryanair of four-star hotels, just meeting the bare minimum for that rating.

There’s good WiFi, free water refills, a pool table, and other games like checkers and chess. The location is handy, with plenty of restaurants nearby. Our room was okay, though the seats were worn and broken, and the hallways were pretty dirty and could use vacuuming twice a day. There’s no hotel parking, so you have to use a public lot that costs €20 for 24 hours. I was still quite happy and would stay again.

The club was useful and had a really nice tea selection, and the staff were friendly and spoke English. Still, this was bad value for money. The bathroom was the worst designed one I’ve experienced: anyone else in the room can see, hear, and smell what you’re doing. The shower floods the rest of the bathroom, and its odd angle means you’ll probably hit your head at least once. The rooms were small, about Ibis size, and the gym was disappointing. I’d pick an Ibis, save the money, and have a better stay.

The club area was a pleasant place to relax, with hot and cold drinks and small local biscuits available. It also serves as the breakfast area, and in the evening you can buy alcohol, with a small appetizer included. We skipped the €20 breakfast. The nearby tram is convenient, though the area feels sterile and has no atmosphere. Walking into town is a long and not especially pleasant trip in winter. After we complained about our room, we were moved after two nights to a larger one. It was much easier to move around, with two chairs and more storage, but the clothes hanging space was still ridiculously small and there was just a coat hook. The first room had no wardrobe either, only a few hooks in a corner, and nowhere else to hang coats. The exterior walls in all the bedrooms are unfinished concrete, which looks awful. Apparently this is meant to be a modern design feature in all Okko hotels. The room also had what looked like mould where the wall and ceiling meet. The bench seat covering was torn and peeling, and there was no other seating in the original room. The hotel called the damage a design feature, and said the place was generally intended for one-night business stays. That didn’t match what I saw, since many guests stayed longer. The bathroom is a large slatted metal structure in the corner of the room. It isn’t private by sight or sound, and there’s a small step to watch out for at night. The hotel says it is by far the worst four-star property I’ve stayed in, and one of the most expensive. I wouldn’t return, and would choose one of the private hotels not available on Booking instead.

The breakfast was shockingly poor, cheap, and low quality. If cereal choice is enough for you, fine, but anyone expecting a proper four-star breakfast will be disappointed. I complained directly to the director, and the receptionist even acknowledged that other travelers had also been misled. Still, the hotel refuses to correct its misleading amenities information and instead pointed to a screenshot of its FAQ with a buried note about parking. That doesn’t feel transparent to me, it feels deceptive. For a four-star hotel, this is unacceptable and comes close to false advertising. The hotel doesn’t take responsibility or show respect for guests. I’m extremely frustrated with Okko and Booking.com for allowing this information to remain online, and would strongly advise avoiding the place.
