Sofitel Strasbourg Grande Ile

The open-air ice rink was a highlight for the kids, and it felt especially magical with the Christmas lights and music. Even locals should give it a try. The hotel is centrally located but quiet, so it works well for families and for a relaxing stay. The restaurant is chic and nice for a date night. I also strongly recommend the festive, delicious pastries at their Goûter at lunchtime. The staff were professional, welcoming, and friendly. A wonderful spot in the city center.

I first stayed here in 2010, then came back with my family 16 years later. I was shocked by how little seemed to have been done to keep the place up to date. The rooms are shabby and dirty, and the furniture, doors, and windows are scuffed. The hallways feel dark and run-down, giving the hotel the atmosphere of a 2-3 star place at best. The staff, though, were amazingly friendly and well trained, and the breakfast was outstanding.

The location is superb, convenient, quiet, and safe, with a beautiful entrance facing the church square. The rooms were cleaned and serviced to an excellent standard, and the beds were very comfortable. Food was delicious, with excellent service, and the relaxed yet elegant bar had a fabulous selection of champagne and cocktails. Every interaction with staff was outstanding, especially at check-in. A personally delivered tray of Champagne and treats on New Year's Day was a highlight. Definitely one of the best Sofitels I've visited, and I'll return. At Brasserie Sofitel, the live harp music set a sophisticated, calming mood for Valentines sunday. Sebastien made the brunch feel like an event through attentive service and seamless professionalism. The grand atmosphere and personal, high-touch hospitality made the experience feel restorative and top-tier.
