Le Grand Hotel By Stay Collection

The room was comfortable, but there was no fridge, kettle, or iron that I could see. The soaking tub was a nice touch, though it may feel too narrow if you're a wide person. We also heard a lot of noise from the guest above. The front desk dealt with it quickly at first, but it started again about an hour later, and we felt on edge instead of being able to relax or sleep. Grace was friendly and knowledgeable when we checked in. The other staff didn't greet or acknowledge us during the stay. The building felt secure, and you have to ring a bell to get in. Its location across from the station is very convenient for restaurants, shopping, and the Christmas markets. Breakfast was simple, with a few hot options, which was nice.

The staff were excellent, helpful, and attentive, and made our stay pleasant. The location is fantastic as a base for exploring, especially the famous Christmas markets. The rooms were fine, but their condition varied and some parts were noticeably worn. In my room, the radiator was right by the toilet, which made that corner of the bathroom very warm. We tried the breakfast buffet. There wasn't as much choice as at other hotel buffets on our trip, but the food was perfectly fine, and the hot chocolate was truly excellent.

The only real hassle was getting a small fridge. They had some in the luggage storage room, which meant using two different elevators or stairs. The room itself was large and comfortable, and the bed was comfortable enough. Breakfast was okay, but the coffee wasn't good.

It's a basic stopover hotel right across from the train station. Our Classic room was very clean but small by US standards and pretty bare bones; I understand there are larger rooms. Breakfast was great. One thing, if you can't handle a hard bed, this place isn't for you.
