The garden was such a lovely place to spend time. We spent hours by the little stream, tucked among the palm trees and greenery, and it was especially nice to come back to our little house and relax there after visiting the DDay areas. The old French house was a wonderful place to stay, and its central spot made it easy to explore the Cotentin Peninsula, with its beaches and scenery. The hosts were kind, cheerful, and helpful. We loved our stay.

For a small village, Surtainville has a good number of shops. Just keep in mind that you’ll need to travel for petrol stations and food supermarkets. You’re in France, after all, and some places close on Sundays!

The garden is magnificent, and the gîte is ideally placed for beaches like Surtainville, Sciotot, and Siouville. There’s also a delightful bakery/grocery store right next door, which was so convenient. We were lucky to use the lovely, well-heated pool Kamel built. Gwenola and Kamel made us feel incredibly welcome and went out of their way to look after us. They’re very welcoming to children, too, which we really appreciated. Thank you both for your kind visit at the end of our stay. We’ll keep your address safe for a future holiday, hopefully a longer one this time 😊. See you soon! De tuin is prachtig, echt niet vast te leggen op een foto. Het zwembad is ook schitterend. Hoewel het niet zo warm was, hebben we er toch gebruik van gemaakt. Het huisje is oud, maar ruim en van alle gemakken voorzien, en de bedden sliepen prima. Om de hoek zit een goede bakker en aan de overkant een supermarktje. Er zijn ook genoeg leuke dorpjes en kastelen om te bezoeken. Wat een heerlijke plek voor een vakantie, met een top gastheer en gastvrouw. Zeker een aanrader. We komen terug als we weer in de buurt zijn.

The garden is magnificent, and breakfast is generous and homemade. Gwenola and Kamel are genuinely lovely, welcoming, and kind. I’ve stayed here twice, once at the Medina and once at the Rose des Sables guesthouse, and both times I’ve had nothing but praise. There’s everything you need, including towels and bed linens, and the guesthouses are so comfortable and clean. The price is reasonable for what’s offered. The future swimming pool is going to be fantastic, too. It feels like everything is in place for a proper change of scenery 😊. I highly recommend it. You can book with complete confidence.
