Best Western Park Hotel Geneve-Thoiry

There was even a place for our tour bus to park. The room's AC worked perfectly, the hotel smelled lovely, and everything from the entrance to the room felt comfortable. Marovane at the front desk gave excellent service too. Minor problems can happen with hotel management and operations, and I've had broken air conditioning in five-star hotels before, but those issues have always been resolved. These emotional comments are completely untrue and even made me misunderstand that the hotel was poor quality. Everything was perfect.

We couldn't sleep at all in the stuffy, hot room, and my child especially struggled with the heat. It was 39°C outside, but there was no working air conditioning. We complained several times, and the staff wouldn't acknowledge the AC problem, only saying, “There’s a fan.” One fan for a whole family in extreme heat and humidity was unacceptable, and we couldn't relax. The reception staff were dismissive and unhelpful, with no apology or attempt to make things right, just excuses. We were there through a Star Tours group booking, and it's disappointing that Star Tours still books this hotel despite complaints from other travelers going back over two years. Nothing seems to have changed. If you're booking through Star Tours, insist they choose somewhere else, and Star Tours needs to take these complaints seriously. People spend their hard-earned money expecting a certain standard, and this fell far below acceptable. Avoid Best Western and the discomfort. This was one of our worst hotel stays, despite the travel company's recommendation.

The reception team helped with different logistical needs throughout my six-night stay, while I was in Geneva for an exhibition. I was visiting Geneva and the French side for the first time, and their local tips and warm conversations were inspiring and heartwarming. The hotel is peaceful, beautifully located, and has lovely views. My room was clean, well equipped, and thoughtfully arranged. The team were friendly, respectful, caring, and kind, and their guest focused approach made me feel at home. I'm sincerely grateful for such a memorable stay, and hope to return someday. I’ve been at Best Western Park Hotel Genevé-Thoiry since June 2nd 2025. After the shower in my basic room failed and a badly mounted bedside lamp gave me an electric shock, I was moved to a suite. The first thing I noticed there was a giant ambient light that wouldn't turn on because the outlet was dead. The bath drain knob came off when I tried to fill the tub, exposing a disgusting mix of mould, dirt, and what might have been sperm. I told reception, and they offered 15 euros worth of breakfast as compensation. The bacon and sausages on the breakfast bar looked so bad I wouldn't offer them to my dog. The coffee machine gave an error after I put in a capsule and pressed the button. The manager, I believe she was on duty, told me that was “normal,” so I needed 2-3 capsules for one coffee. There's also a sign asking guests to save resources. After my night shift as shift leader at the ALICE experiment, I went back to my room to sleep. The bedside lamp was the same model as the one that shocked me in the other room, and it was so loosely mounted I was afraid to touch it. It has a metal casing and a 230V warning sticker. One electric shock was enough for me. That's just what comes to mind. I could go on and on. Is this what 4 star hotel rooms costing north of 150 euros a night are supposed to be like in France? I expect proper compensation.
