Hôtel Campanile Reims Ouest - Tinqueux

The exterior looks worn, but our room was a pleasant surprise: small, bright, clean, and comfortable. We ate at the on-site restaurant, where the plat du jour we chose was very good and generous. Neither of us could finish it. The location isn't great, but I'd stay again.

We were there for only four hours. We arrived Saturday at 19:30 and left after finding a live bedbug on the bed. Before that, we might have put up with the rundown exterior, the tiny smelly room, the rotting window, and even a cockroach for one night, but we couldn't stay after seeing that bug. The online photos made this look like a decent budget hotel, which was misleading. First and last time at this hotel chain.

The food was really nice, and I can't fault the staff. We had mistakenly booked double beds for three rooms for six of us on motorbikes on June 24, 2023. A young staff member, whose name I don't know, helped us switch to three rooms with two singles in each. Nothing was too much trouble, and he also put the bikes somewhere safe. Thank you so much again.

The room was comfortable and the bathroom was as expected. We didn't use the restaurant during our stay. When booking, I was told there'd be no evening restaurant service on weekends, though breakfast would be served as usual every day. The location works well for the autoroute heading either north or south.
