The breakfast selection was good, and the staff were kind, which is why I’m giving three stars. But many plates, bowls, glasses and pieces of cutlery were dirty or poorly washed, and the rooms weren’t that nice. They also don’t offer upgrade options. The elevator was broken for two days, so I had to carry two suitcases up to the second floor. One was especially heavy. They offered help, but the staff were young women, and I felt bad asking, so I managed it myself. I’m a tiny woman too.

We were traveling with our child, and they gave us two connecting bedrooms at a good price. The rooms were clean, and breakfast was fresh and good. Reception and restaurant service were good too. The one concern was seeing very small cockroaches in the restaurant, including on a table and on the floor. It wasn’t because the surfaces were dirty, but management should still look into it.

She was rude and angry when we needed to get our bikes from the bike room, and she was rude when I said I didn’t want breakfast after I went into the breakfast area to talk to someone. I believe that may be why she tried to charge my card without permission. Luckily, the charge was declined. When I called the hotel, she denied doing anything, saying, “I did not do anything and it was only me here,” then hung up on me. She was rude and disrespectful all morning.

It’s about a 15-minute walk from the center of Tours. The hotel was very clean, with comfortable beds, and the staff were extremely friendly. Service and breakfast were excellent.

Cycling here worked out really well: Ibis Tours Giraudeau is right by the EuroVelo bikepath, with cycling facilities nearby. The rooms were clean, airy, and roomy enough for my daily yoga. La Matron, whose joyful dog was a bonus, made sure I was comfortable, and the team answered my scrappy French questions about laundromats and post offices with friendly humour. The restaurant handled my vegetarian requests brilliantly. I enjoyed the stay. Five stars. 🙏🙏
