Hôtel Bambou & Spa

Our flight was canceled, so my American fiancé and I needed an emergency place to stay for three nights. The staff were friendly and helpful, and our room was very clean. It's a pretty, rustic property in a great location, with a private beach and a pool. There were beautiful birds outside our room in the mornings. The internet was slow, but that was a small thing on vacation. Not every window has glass, but that's how some islands are; there are insect nets, which fit the rustic style. The air conditioning worked really well. The only reason I gave four stars is the bathroom, which could use an update. If it gets renovated, I'd definitely come back.

The crew gave us a very warm welcome, and it's a nice place for a family holiday with children. A couple of practical things could be better: there's no shower curtain, so water ends up everywhere, and the room has no proper trash bin. There's only a small one in the bathroom, which isn't enough.

It was lovely to return after almost 12 years and feel alive again, surrounded by nature instead of the concrete you find in so many places. Of course, being in nature means mosquitoes come with it too!! 🙃

I really liked the pool, the little beach access, and how incredibly quiet it was. The problem for me was the Wi-Fi. I need reliable internet for email, and it kept dropping out here. I could only get a steady connection at reception.
