I used it as a break on my drive from the UK to the South of France, travelling alone. The bathroom was on the small side, but fine for me that day. The room was simple and had no frills, yet it was perfectly adequate for an overnight budget stay. It was clean and quiet, the two main things I want from a hotel. Everything matched what I expected, and my expectations are high.

Everything else was perfect, as usual, and the front desk guy on 23/10 was really friendly and helpful. After a long day's drive, it was a relief when he went above and beyond to find me a parking spot. Top guy.

The shower was a great surprise, with strong water pressure and nice hot water. The room was small, as expected, but did what we needed. Breakfast was fine too. It's conveniently close to the highway for an overnight stop while passing through. I should have checked in online first, since the outdoor system was cumbersome and took too long while we stood in the cold. The window had been left open when we arrived, and the heating/cooling unit was very loud and took ages to make the room comfortable for sleeping.

We've stayed at a number of newer B&B hotels and been happy with them, but Valence Sud wasn't one of those. It needs renovation, and the AC didn't work properly either. The staff were nice, though the state of the place made it hard for them to help. We won't be back.

The rooms were clean but small, with nowhere to put food we'd brought or iceclamps. We had pets with us, and it's great that they're allowed to stay, but we weren't given fresh towels. Arriving late makes things complicated, and the route here is a bit confusing with all the roundabouts.
