The garden, pool, and the dog and cat made this feel like such a safe, happy place for our family. My four-year-old was relaxed and cheerful throughout our two nights, and even tried out the French words she'd just learned. During our ten days in France, this was when she seemed happiest. It was our first quick trip abroad without Japan as a family, and we're very grateful for the stay. The owner was away, but her acquaintances and family members helped us whenever we needed anything.

La Bastide de Freinet cancelled our confirmed Booking.com reservation not long before we were due to arrive. By then, with the Côte d'Azur nearly full and only a few weeks to go, finding a good hotel was going to be difficult. I found this completely untrustworthy.

We were away from Nice's crowds but could still reach it in about 25 minutes by car. The sea and countryside are both close, and there are plenty of restaurants around. The guesthouse itself is beautiful, well kept, and has wonderful hosts. Breakfast was excellent, with fresh local ingredients and homemade food. Thanks for the warm welcome and all the suggestions. We had an incredible stay, 10/10, and will come back.

Breakfast on the terrace with that view was a real treat, and the whole place was spotless and peaceful. The garden is magnificent, the pool is well maintained, and our room was spacious and comfortable. The view is exceptional. The owner was welcoming and flexible, even arranging a travel cot after our last-minute booking and late arrival because of a flight delay. We truly didn't want to leave. One thing to know about the area: you'll need a car, and the roads around here have steep hills, so be comfortable driving.

After a busy workday in Nice, this was a quiet, immaculate place to relax. The house is beautiful, the owners are very welcoming, and breakfast was excellent. I even got to enjoy the pool on my last evening. I highly recommend it.
