The facilities aren’t enough for four people, despite what most sites advertise. Be careful about the toilet rules. If you have a sensitive bowel, don’t try it.

We chose a late check-out, which seemed fair given the value for money on Booking.com. Everything was thoughtfully arranged and tastefully decorated, and we’d come back with the children to see the historic sites Richard recommended. He clearly loves his city and region. Each apartment had a welcome basket for breakfast, which we enjoyed together on the Studio terrace. Richard and Séverine offer the "LOFT" for four and the "STUDIO" for six, which worked well for our large family. We were in town for a wedding and could arrive late thanks to the self-service key collection. Their helpful messages made it easy to find the address and amenities. The neighbourhood is peaceful, with lots of free parking, and the town hall is just five minutes away by car.

Richard was a welcoming, discreet host who was easy to reach, and we got along very well. The studio made good use of its space and had everything we needed. We spent time on the sunny private terrace, having drinks in the garden chairs and meals at the table. There were plenty of regional guides and brochures in the apartment. Secure, sheltered parking for the motorcycle was a real bonus. We were delighted with our stay in Verdun.

Clean place and a fair price. Richard was really nice and showed us around. We were surprised he spoke such good English, which isn’t always the case in France. Verdun is close by and has a lot of history. A very cool place to stay.
