A peaceful, charming place above the busy valley, with lots of space and interesting furnishings. Breakfast was good. A couple of small things would make the room easier to use: bedside tables with lamps, and somewhere to hang bathrobes and pyjamas. It’s easy to bump around in the dark as it is.

We had a lovely stay. Alice welcomed us so warmly, and the house is a great base for exploring the region. Our room was beautiful, roomy, and practical, and breakfast was delicious, generous, and nicely laid out. We’d happily come back to the Dordogne and stay here again.

Breakfast was generous and carefully put together, and the hostess was lovely, always paying attention to what guests needed. The house itself is beautiful, with a calming feel and a wonderfully quiet setting. Our room made us want to stay longer, or come back again. We’d highly recommend it.

Three days exploring the Périgord Noir barely felt like enough, there’s so much to see. Staying at Alice's House was a lovely memory from the trip. The house is magnificent and beautifully decorated, and our suite felt magical. Alice is charming, and we really enjoyed talking with her. A rare find, and an excellent guesthouse.
