Les Jardins de la Livrée

The breakfast was the best we had anywhere on our European vacation, especially the fresh apricot preserves made on site. The owners were phenomenal, and the location, rooms, and grounds were all exceptional. Flowering trees and plants were in bloom all over the grounds, and the owners’ resident kitties made it feel a bit like home. I slept wonderfully in the Laurier room, with its beautiful decor, comfortable bed, and perfect view of the grounds. I’d gladly stay here indefinitely in peaceful bliss. Already want to come back!

The location is superb, within walking distance of Avignon and everything going on there, and the garden is pretty. The owner was very helpful. The place is a little dated but clean, and the host was friendly. The bed was very small but comfortable. There was no kettle, water, fridge, or anywhere to make tea. Luckily, nearby bars and cafes were open. The pool was dirty, so we couldn’t use it, which was sad since we swim all year and the listing advertises a pool. Breakfast was very basic and the same each day. I’d have preferred bowls of fresh chopped fruit, and maybe toast. I don’t have a photo of the pool to post; we’d assumed it had simply been closed for the season.

The food was excellent, and the town is charming and interesting. Jean Paul gave us a lovely welcome and was so friendly. The place was wonderfully peaceful, like coming home. I didn’t want to leave.

A wonderful place to relax while taking a break from our tour of Europe. The hosts were great, and the owner is a big Middle Earth fan.
